ScrubInbox scans your inbox for subscriptions and junk, then lets you bulk delete them in one click. Free, open source, and completely private.
Sign in with Google to grant temporary access. ScrubInbox uses official Google APIs with minimal permissions.
ScrubInbox groups your emails by sender domain so you can see which subscriptions and notifications are cluttering your inbox.
Select the sender domains you want gone, then trash or permanently delete them. Starred and labeled emails are excluded by default.
Open Gmail to an inbox free of noise. Run ScrubInbox again anytime the clutter creeps back.
ScrubInbox's Cloudflare Worker proxies Gmail on your behalf so we can enforce the paid tier at the trust boundary. Email bodies never leave your browser. The Worker requests format=metadata, so only From, Subject, and label IDs cross the wire. Nothing about your mail is stored: only your account, entitlement, an encrypted refresh token, and running scan/trash counts.
Because keeping an inbox clean the "right" way stopped being possible. Every service you sign up for wants your email address, and every one of them sends notifications, promotions, and digests forever. Maintaining filters and chasing unsubscribe links for hundreds of senders is a losing game: by the time you've tamed one, three more have appeared.
ScrubInbox takes the opposite approach: let the mail pile up, then sweep it out in bulk. It groups everything by sender domain so one decision can clear thousands of threads, and a few minutes every month or two keeps the inbox usable. It's inbox zero without the upkeep.
It's designed not to. Starred emails are skipped automatically, you can exclude any label (plus anything Gmail marks important, via an optional toggle), and nothing is removed until you've reviewed the sender list and selected it yourself. The default action is Move to Trash, which Gmail keeps recoverable for 30 days, so even a change of heart has a month of runway. Permanent deletion exists, but it's a separate opt-in checkbox with its own warning.
Scanning and reviewing your inbox is free, so you can see exactly what's cluttering it before paying anything. Cleaning up is a one-time $4.99 purchase. No subscription, no recurring charge, and the code is open source if you'd rather run your own instance.
Moving mail to trash requires Gmail's restricted-scope permission. Google offers no narrower scope that can delete email. Because of that, ScrubInbox went through Google's OAuth verification and an independent security assessment (CASA) before launch.
In practice the backend only ever requests metadata (sender, subject, and labels), never message bodies. And you can revoke access at any time from your Google account permissions.
Yes. ScrubInbox works great on mobile, and you can pin it like a native app:
You'll get the ScrubInbox icon on your home screen: one tap to sweep your inbox from anywhere.
No, and that's deliberate. Clicking unsubscribe links confirms to shady senders that your address is live, and even legitimate ones can take days to honor the request. Deleting in bulk gives you the clean inbox immediately, without telling anyone anything. For senders you never want to hear from again, Gmail's own block and spam tools finish the job.
